Interpretive structural model of trust factors in construction virtual project teams

Purpose Organisational dependence on virtual project teams (VPTs) is growing dramatically due to the substantial benefits they offer, such as efficiently achieving objectives and improving organisational performance. One of major issues that influence effectiveness VPTs trust building. This study aims determine key factors in design a model by identifying interrelationships among factors. Design/methodology/approach Focus group discussion was used gather data affecting their interrelationships. Interpretive structural modelling (ISM) establish relationship Cross-impact matrix multiplication applied classification analysis conducted identify driving power towards effective construction sector. Findings The finding revealed “characteristics team members” (such ability, integrity, benevolence, competence, reliability professionalism) most significant factor for building members. Some were further identified having high power, while others defined variables. Practical implications findings will assist managers practitioners dealing with influencing Taking cognisance enable them more arrangements.
